The AI Insight

What can AI do for your business? Here's everything mine runs.

Anything I do the same way every week, I hand to Claude to run on a schedule.

All through September I checked my sales by hand every morning. I'd pull the numbers out of ThriveCart, upload them to Claude and ask the same questions I asked the day before.

So I wrote the steps down one time and set them up as a scheduled task. Now the report runs at 7:20 every morning and it's there waiting for me when I sit down.

After that I started doing the same thing with other jobs, and now I have around twenty of these running for Creator's MBA and HobbyScool.

They check my memberships every Saturday, find speakers for my events, look for broken buttons on my sales pages and write drafts of my replies to HobbyScool subscribers.

I put the whole list on the blog, and there's a separate post for each group of tasks that walks through how they work.

The Build

Have Claude Find the Black Friday Deals That Fit Your Business

This time of year I'm looking for deals on tools and trainings for my business, and my inbox fills up fast with Black Friday emails.

So I set up a scheduled task this month to go through them for me. Every morning it reads the sale emails that came in, looks at them next to what I've told it about my business and sends me a short list of the deals worth a look.

You'll need Gmail connected to Claude and a Claude plan that runs scheduled tasks. Fill in the part about your business one time, then copy the whole thing into a new scheduled task.

This week's prompt

Every morning at 7am from now through Cyber Monday, look through my Gmail for emails from the last day about Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals. Read each one all the way through. Then look at the deals next to what I've told you about my business and tell me which ones are worth a look.

ABOUT MY BUSINESS (fill this in once)

- What I sell and what it costs:
- The tools and software I already pay for:
- What I'm working on or trying to fix right now:
- Things I've been wanting to buy or try:
- How much I want to spend on new tools and trainings this season:

WHAT TO SEND ME

- Up to 5 deals that fit my business. For each one, tell me what's on sale, the sale price, when the deal ends and one sentence on why it fits what I'm doing.
- Give me the email's subject line and a link that opens it in Gmail.
- If a deal is for a tool I already pay for, tell me, so I don't buy it twice and can see if it's a cheaper way to renew.
- If nothing fits my business today, say that in one sentence and stop. Don't reach for something just to have an answer.
- Use plain everyday words and keep it short enough to read on my phone.

RULES

- Only read and report. Never buy anything, click a link, reply to an email, unsubscribe me or change anything in my inbox.
- Only use what's actually in the emails. If you can't tell the price or when a deal ends, say so instead of guessing.
- Keep a short list of the deals you've already sent me, so you don't send the same one again unless the price changed or it ends today.

Keep the rules section exactly the way it's written. Claude is reading your real inbox, so it should only read and tell you what it found and you decide what to buy.

If it keeps suggesting things you'd never use, add more detail to the part about your business.

My Black Friday emails will be in that pile too, so I put everything I'm offering this year into one place called the 2027 Wish Book.

It starts with the free 2027 Business Checkup, which asks you about ten questions and shows you which part of your business is holding the rest back.

Once you know that, you can look at every Black Friday deal and ask whether it fixes that part or not. You can even put your Checkup result in the part of the prompt about what you're trying to fix, so Claude uses it when it picks your deals.

It also shows you which of my offers fixes that part and the day each one goes on sale.

If you've never set up a scheduled task, start with my post on your first one. It walks through a weekly newsletter draft step by step.
