The Attract Stage Move Most Creators Build Backward

Attract the right people once. Let the flywheel do the rest.

Here's where most creators get stuck at Attract. They've got a PDF lead magnet from 2022 that's still doing the job, sort of. Subscribers are coming in. But almost nobody's buying.

The problem isn't the PDF. It's that the freebie was built around a topic, not a buyer.

A modern lead magnet does the opposite. It starts with your paid offer and works backward to attract the exact person most likely to buy.

The freebie isn't the goal. It's the first thing a new subscriber sees from you. If it pulls in the wrong people, the rest of your emails won't convert them either.

When Attract is built backward, every other stage gets easier.


The 1% Move

The 3-Minute Lead Magnet Audit

Most lead magnet advice tells you to make it shorter. Make it prettier. Switch the format from PDF to something interactive.

That's not the real problem. The real problem is that the freebie was never tied to a specific buyer in the first place. Here's a simple audit you can run this week.

This week's move

Pick one paid offer. Write 3 sentences describing the exact person most likely to buy it (what they do, what they want, what they've already tried). Then ask: does my current lead magnet attract that person? If not, you've found the leak.

This works because you're starting with your buyer and working backward, instead of guessing what topic might get attention.

Every time you build a new freebie, you start with the buyer description. Every time you refresh an old one, you check it against the same question.
