The AI Insight

Your Morning Is the Most Expensive Part of Your Day

Tab-jumping isn't a time problem. It's a decision problem.

Most creators open their laptop and immediately start bouncing. Email → funnel analytics → content calendar → back to email. Forty-five minutes in, you've responded to a few things, scanned a few dashboards, and still haven't made a single real decision about your day.

The instinct is to call this a time management problem. It isn't. It's a decision-architecture problem. You're handing the first hour of your day to whoever sent something overnight — and that's expensive, because the first hour is when your thinking is sharpest.

The fix isn't a better to-do list. It's an editorial layer — something that reads across your business and tells you what actually matters before anything else gets a vote.

The Build

The Morning Command Center Skill I Built (And Use Every Day)

I built a Claude skill that interviews you about your business — your offers, your tools, your content schedule — and then generates a custom Morning Brief prompt built specifically for how your business runs.

Every brief covers five things in order: inbox priorities with recommended next action, funnel activity from the last 24 hours, content queue status, calendar and launch horizon, and one highest-leverage focus for the day. That's it. Scannable. Editorial. Done before you open anything else.

This week's build

The Morning Command Center skill — paste it into Claude, answer 5 questions about your business, and walk away with a custom Morning Brief prompt built for your specific offers, tools, and content schedule. Works with a free Claude account. Takes about 5 minutes the first time.

What surprised me when I started using it: I stopped feeling like I might be missing something important. When you've already seen a clean summary of your business, you can make decisions with confidence instead of operating on incomplete information.

Run it manually the first few mornings. Then use the included CoWork setup guide to schedule it so it's waiting in your inbox before you're even at your desk.
