Stage 4 of 5 · Retain

The Stage That Makes Everything Else Easier

When Retain works, everything else gets easier.

Most business owners aren't losing customers because of a bad product. They're losing them because of nothing. No reason to stay. No next step. No moment that makes them feel like they're getting somewhere. That's a fixable problem.

You know the feeling. You worked hard to get that customer. They showed up excited. And then six weeks later they're just gone. No complaint, no cancellation email, no explanation. Just gone. And instead of figuring out why, most people do what feels productive: launch something new, run a promo, chase the next lead.

A broken Retain stage makes your Attract stage work twice as hard. Forever. Fix the leak first, and every other stage of your flywheel starts to compound instead of just survive.

I'm bringing this framework to the Retention Games next week — a free 4-day event where 20+ entrepreneurs go behind the scenes of their real retention strategies. More on that below.

The 1% Move

Audit Your Three Retention Pillars This Weekend

Here's what churn usually looks like from the inside: you check your numbers, something feels off, and you can't pinpoint what broke. Was it the offer? The content? The community? You're not sure, so you add more. Another module. Another call. Another email. And the numbers still don't move.

Most of the time it's not about adding more. It's about identifying which of the three retention pillars is missing. Live Touchpoints (structured, predictable reasons to stay that can't be replicated in a course or on YouTube), Always-On Support (help available at 11pm on a Tuesday when customers are actually doing the work, not just on call days), and Clear Next Steps (customers who always know where they're going don't leave out of confusion).

This week's move

Rate yourself 1-3 on each pillar: Do your customers have a reason to stay they can't get elsewhere? Are they getting help between live events? Do they always know their next step inside your world? Your lowest score is your leverage point.

When all three pillars are working, something shifts. LTV goes up. Customers stop shopping around. And the ones who stay long enough to get real results? They become your best marketers, which makes your Attract stage cheaper over time.

This is the exact framework I'm presenting at the Retention Games (May 12-15) — a free virtual event where 20+ online business owners go behind the scenes of their actual retention strategies. You'll see everything from gamification to onboarding to offboarding sequences that convert. Grab your free ticket here — details on what to expect are below.

Your Next Step

I'm Competing in the Retention Games — and You're Invited

If you've been patching churn with new launches instead of actually fixing what's driving it, this is the event to attend this month. Free ticket. Four days. Twenty-plus real strategies from practitioners who are actually using them.

And if fixing your retention has been on your list for six months and you haven't done anything about it yet — this is the push.

It's a free 4-day virtual event (May 12-15) where 20+ entrepreneurs go behind the scenes of their real retention strategies. The ones they actually use, with real results. No panels. No theory. Just practitioners showing you exactly what's working and how you can use it in your own business.

You watch everything at your own pace, vote for your favorites, and walk away with more than one thing you can implement immediately. I'm one of the 20+ contestants and my session covers the Retain Engine framework you read about above.

What you walk away with — free

→ 20+ real retention strategies you can actually implement

→ Behind-the-scenes access to what's working right now, no fluff

→ 4 days to watch everything at your own pace (May 12-15)

→ A clear picture of which retention moves are worth your time

Grab your free ticket below. And if you register through my link, you'll also be helping me compete for the Growth Champion title. Every sign-up counts. Either way, the strategies you'll see are worth the four days.
