The AI Insight
You Don't Have to Know Every AI Tool. You Just Have to Know How to Ask.
The most useful thing Claude did for me last week wasn't write anything.
|
|
Most of us have a fixed AI stack. The same two or three tools, used the same way every time. And that works — until you hit a problem that doesn't fit the tools you already know.
Last week I was completely buried. Three workshop presentations due, spring break coming, no bandwidth. I started in Claude the way I always do — walked it through what I needed, shared past presentations as context, worked through the content together. That part went fine. But then I hit the wall I always hit: I had the content, and no good way to turn it into something that actually looked like a finished presentation.
So instead of opening Canva and starting from scratch, I asked Claude: "Is there a tool that will take this and build a finished presentation — brand colors, speaker notes, the whole thing?" It pointed me to Gamma.
I'd never used it. An hour later I had three polished presentations done. The best AI move I made that week wasn't a prompt — it was knowing to ask Claude which tool to use in the first place.

The Build
How I Built Three Presentations in One Hour With Claude + Gamma
|
|
Here's how the actual session went — not the cleaned-up version, the real one.
I opened Claude, explained the situation, and dropped in two or three past presentations as context. We built the content for the first workshop together — structure, key points, the flow. Once I had something solid I asked the question that changed the whole afternoon: "Is there a tool that will take this and turn it into a finished presentation with my brand colors and speaker notes already in?" Claude said Gamma. Best bet.

This week's workflow
Step 1 — Start with context, not a prompt. Tell Claude what you're trying to build, what you already have, and what's in your way.
Step 2 — Build the content together. Walk through structure, key points, narrative flow. Let Claude push back and sharpen it.
Step 3 — When the content is solid, ask: "What's the best tool to turn this into a finished [presentation / graphic / asset]?"
Step 4 — Take Claude's recommendation and run with it. In my case, Gamma. Paste the content in, set your brand colors, let it build.
Step 5 — Once you see what it can do, try it on other things. I went from presentations to event graphics in the same session.

One more thing
After I was done with the presentations I thought — if Gamma is this good at slides, let me see what it can do for event graphics. I needed images for our upcoming Eco-Creative Summit. I gave Gamma the details and it came back with graphics that actually looked right. Summit-quality visuals without a designer, inside the same tool.
The thing I keep coming back to: I didn't find Gamma by browsing ProductHunt or following an AI newsletter. I found it by describing my actual problem to Claude and asking it what to use. That's the workflow worth keeping.

Your Move
Try This on One Thing You've Been Putting Off
Think of something you've been putting off because it felt like too much work — a presentation, a workshop deck, event graphics, a speaker kit. Don't open a design tool yet. Open Claude first. Describe what you need, build the content together, then ask it what tool will help you finish it fastest.
If it sends you to Gamma, the link below is my affiliate link — free to start, no credit card needed.
And next Wednesday — I'm showing you something bigger. A full system I've been building that automates your entire newsletter workflow. Worth clearing 10 minutes for.

P.S. Next Wednesday I'm showing you the full newsletter automation system I've been building — three layers that handle planning, monetization, and repurposing. It kicks off inside Newsletter Profit Club on April 20. If you want a head start on what's coming, get the details here →
