The Framework

The Difference Between a Funnel and a Flywheel

A funnel ends. A flywheel keeps spinning, and gets easier every turn.

Most creators are running a funnel without realizing it. Every launch starts from zero. Every month you're back at the top, chasing new traffic, wondering why it never seems to get easier.

A funnel has an end. People fall in the top, a few come out the bottom, and then you go find more people. It works. It just never builds on itself. You're always the one pushing.

A flywheel is different. It's a system where every stage feeds the next one, so the work you did last month makes this month easier. Same effort, more momentum, because the wheel is already turning.

The goal isn't to push harder at the top of a funnel. It's to build a wheel that keeps spinning after you stop pushing.

The Five Stages

How the Flywheel Actually Spins

The Creator Growth Flywheel has five stages. Each one has a single job, and each one hands off to the next. Slow down at any stage, and the whole wheel slows down right there.

The Creator Growth Flywheel: Attract, Engage, Nurture, Retain, Advocate in a continuous loop

The Creator Growth Flywheel

1. Attract

Get the right people into your world. Not just traffic, but the people you can actually serve.

2. Engage

This is where a new subscriber actually uses the lead magnet that brought them in. That first quick win is what opens the door to your tripwire.

3. Nurture

This is the steady stream of value that keeps trust building, so people are ready when you point them toward a bigger offer.

4. Retain

Keep customers close after the sale instead of letting the relationship go cold. When Retain works, everything else gets easier.

5. Advocate

Turn happy customers into the people who bring you the next ones. Your best marketers are already inside your programs.

Advocate feeds right back into Attract. That loop is what makes it a wheel and not a straight line.

Now look at the wheel as a whole. Your growth isn't capped by your best stage. It's capped by your weakest one. You can be brilliant at attracting people and still go nowhere if nothing nurtures them. The wheel only turns as fast as its slowest stage.

So the highest-leverage move this week isn't to do more. It's to find the one stage that's quietly holding the whole thing back, and put your attention there first.
