Will Pinterest Work for Your Business?

Pinterest works. Just not for everyone.

People ask me this all the time. Should Pinterest be one of the ways people find you? They want a yes or no. The honest answer is it depends on what you sell.

Attract is the top of your flywheel. It's how new people find you in the first place. Pinterest can be a great Attract channel for the right business, and a waste of months for the wrong one.

So before you put in the work, it's worth knowing which one you are. The trick isn't working harder at Pinterest. It's knowing if it fits your business first.

Is It a Fit?

How to Tell If It's Your Channel

Pinterest rewards things people search for and save. Visual, evergreen, product stuff. Digital products, shops, printables, recipes, crafts. If someone would type your topic into a search bar, you have a real shot.

It's a weaker fit if people buy because of you specifically, or your content is only good for a week. Pinterest doesn't care who you are. It cares what you made and whether people search for it.

And one thing to be clear on. Pinterest is a long game. It pays off over months, not days. So it's only worth it if the fit is really there.

If you decide to try it

You don't have to build a whole new content habit for Pinterest. Take something you already made, a blog post, a podcast episode, an email people liked, and use AI to turn it into a handful of pins. Edit them so they sound like you, then put them up. You're reusing what you have, not adding another job.

I wrote out the full breakdown of who Pinterest works for and who should skip it, if you want to think it through before you decide.
