What My Affiliate Program Pays and How It's Built

Nadalie was talking about JV webinars, but the same thing is true of affiliates. At HobbyScool, 37.5% of VIP pass orders come through affiliate links. Those sales happened without me running an ad or sending an email, because a partner put the event in front of their own audience.

Here's what the program behind that number pays. Affiliates earn 50% on an event VIP or paid upgrade and 30% recurring on membership programs, with a 60-day cookie, so anything a referred person buys in that window counts. There's no minimum payout, and commissions go out monthly through PayPal.

The rates get people to sign up. The calendar is what keeps them promoting. I run events year-round, and every one has a promo window that opens three weeks before it goes live, so an affiliate always has something current to send, with a real date attached.
