The #1 Mistake I'm Avoiding This Summer

Destini Copp

Hi Reader,

School's out here in Georgia, and I'm doing the happy dance! I can't believe how quickly this school year flew by, and that my youngest is heading to high school next year.

During the summer, I like to take things a little easier. Now that my knee has recovered from replacement surgery, I definitely want to get back on the courts – maybe try tennis again, but definitely take some pickleball lessons

But I can't take my foot off the gas pedal because what I do now will impact my revenue and business growth in the fall.

That's why I'm excited to share this week's podcast episode on the Creator's MBA podcast to help you streamline your business just in time for summer.

🎧 NEW EPISODE

Your Minimal Summer Vacation Marketing Plan

Summer is a time for vacations and relaxation, but it's also crucial to keep your business momentum going. The work you do now sets the stage for your success in the fall.

In today's podcast episode, I want to share some strategies to streamline your digital product business over the summer while maintaining growth and preparing for a strong finish to the year.

In this episode, you'll learn:

  • The three key things you can do to streamline your marketing for the summer
  • A huge mistake to avoid
  • How to effectively plan your email newsletters and promotions

I'm also sharing my super simple Email Newsletter & Promotional Planner to help you button up your business for the summertime so you can spend more time at the pool and less time in front of your computer.

💡 QUICK TIP

20 Creative Ways To Repurpose Content

In today's podcast episode, I dive into content repurposing. It's something we probably don't do enough in our businesses—I know I don't.

It might seem like repurposing content is cheating the system, but it's not. You're taking your existing, high-quality content and presenting it in a new way.

So instead of creating a bunch of new content for the summer, consider repurposing some of your highest-performing pieces:

  • Save time: Less content creation means more time for other tasks (or taking a summer hike!)
  • Boost SEO: Repurposed content can help improve your search engine rankings.
  • Scale your reach: More content in different formats means reaching a wider audience.

In this post, you'll learn 20 creative ways to repurpose your content and if you want to take your learning even further, check out this free content repurposing course.

📑 BOOKMARK WORTHY

Consistency Matters

I recently read Principles of Newsletters by CJ Chilvers which covers his lessons learned from 37 years of newsletter publishing. Highly recommend if you want to check it out.

The question posed is "Why do mediocre creators often get more attention than the best creators?"

And the answer is...because they're consistent.

Take podcasts, for example. There are about 5 million out there, but only around 448,929 are active (published an episode in the last 90 days), and even fewer stick to a regular schedule.

The same thing happened with blogging back in the day, and it's true for videos and email newsletters now.

Staying consistent is a huge game-changer. People’s attention spans are super short, so you need consistency to keep them engaged. We're all creatures of habit, so make sure you become a part of their routine.

This is why you don't want to disappear over the summer; it's important to engage your audience and make sure you have your emails scheduled even when you're on vacation or taking time off.

This is the #1 mistake I'm avoiding this summer!

I'm testing out different email newsletter formats and I'm curious...

What did you think of this email newsletter format? Reply back and let me know.

Keep creating, and I'll talk with you next week!
